Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who has joined us together as partners in this Ministry at Mashoko in Zimbabwe, Africa. Philippians 1: 3-5. NIV “I thank my God every time I remember you. In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the Gospel from the first day until now.”
We are happy to report as follows:
- CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC.
In September and October, we felt like the Coronavirus problem was disappearing from Zimbabwe. Daily positive numbers had gone down to single digits. Of course, because of lack of funds, our country is not testing as many people as it should. Deaths were also in single digits per week. But November has brought an upward trend. Numbers are now around 100 per day. We are thankful to the Lord and to your prayers that we have not had anyone testing positive at our hospital. PRAISE THE LORD! We have had a few scares of people who had signs and symptoms of COVID-19. But PCR results have always come back negative. In our community (catchment area) we have had one young lady, who had returned from South Africa, coming up positive for COVID-19. She was tested and isolated in Masvingo. We just supervised her isolation when she was sent home. May you kindly pray with us that the situation remains as it is in our area. We have heard that where some of you live, there have been people who have suffered from the disease. We pray that the Lord will heal them and that He will protect you from COVID-19.
2. Rains.
It is Summer right now in Zimbabwe. Rains are just starting. October and November have had scorching heat. We just got a relief yesterday when we got some heavy rains. Things cooled down after that. It is predicted that we are going to have good rains for the next week. In some areas far from us, because of the heat, there were strong winds and hail which brought down buildings and causing human injuries. Kindly pray with us that we do not have such negative effects in our area.

*The AIDS HOME-BASED CARE and the EVANGELISTIC OUTREACH programs continue to be some of the best ways to preach the Gospel in the villages. They also make sure that those who chose to follow Christ remain active in the Church. These clients also get continued counseling.
SURELY, WE MINISTER TO PEOPLE’S PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL NEEDS. WE PREACH, TEACH AND HEAL (MATTHEW 4:23/MATTHEW 9:35).
VESICO-VAGINAL FISTULA/RECTO-VAGINAL FISTULA SURGERY (VVF/RVF).
God has provided us with another avenue for evangelistic outreach and counseling through VVF/RVF program. This is a situation where women sustain holes between the urinary bladder and the birth canal and or between the rectum and the birth canal as a complication of delayed expulsion or the head of the baby. In our country and many other developing countries, such injuries result from several causes among which are delivering babies by young girls, delay in getting to health centers, delivering under the care of unqualified midwives and surgical accidents. Among those whom we have cared for in our VVF/RVF program, a lot of them are not permitted by their Churches to go to hospitals. The injuries lead to urine and or stool coming out uncontrollably. The sufferers will smell strongly of urine and or stool. Many times, this leads to divorce. This group of people, after the surgery, ask how they can worship with the Churches of Christ and Christian Churches since they do not want to go back to the ones that led them to such injuries. So, we visit these women when they are in the process of healing and after that for counseling and sharing the Gospel. (SEE PICTURES).
- FINANCIAL NEEDS.
We would like to share with you about our financial constraints. When we started the 12 x 24 project, which in full is $12 per month for 24 months, the aim was to raise extra funds so that the Doctors that the Lord had added to our Ministry would have their incentives paid from these project funds and not from the regular support because the regular support was not going to be enough for that. Our prayers were to have, from the Churches which partner with us, people who would give over and above their Church tithing, towards this. We were praying for 500 people in total to commit to this project. We have failed to get this many people. So, our budget is really strained. These doctors are needed. They are crucial to our ministry plans. To fulfill our MISSION: Mashoko Christian Hospital exists to preach the Gospel to all who come seeking for treatment of their physical ailments, while providing quality health care to them. This will not be realized without these Doctors. I am a Preacher who is also working as a Medical Doctors. The work I am doing is a CALLING. But these Doctors are here for employment. If they do not get incentives, they will leave.
We give 4 of the Doctors $1,200 each per month as an incentive while the 5th one gets $500 per month. THUS, PER MONTH, over and above our regular budget, we need to come up with $5,300 for Doctor incentives. We are appealing to you, our partners to pray that the Lord would bless you so that you may be part of those who can assist in this project. Pray that the Lord may appeal to your friends and organizations to assist.
