Time flies. We are already in May. It looks like it was only last month that we were with you in the USA. Anyway, it is time again to share with you how our ministry and the country of Zimbabwe have been going.
1. RAIN AND HARVEST.
God blessed Zimbabwe this year. Our country got enough rain this year for the farmers to have better than average to very good harvests. Our rain season stretches from December to March when there is rain. It used to stretch from October to March. We are very thankful to God for the better than usual harvests. We are thankful to IDES which helped us with money to buy food for 35 Mashoko Church of Christ widows and their families, 6 Preachers and their families, 35 Chronically ill patients and their families, Pregnant women at the Matumbas (Waiting Mothers’ Shelters) and in patients. PRAISE THE LORD!
2. SCHOOL OF NURSING.
The numbers of students in our School of Nursing continue to go up because the Government wants to train as many nurses as possible to cover up for those who left for the diaspora especially England. So, since students belong to the government, we have to go along with their numbers. Otherwise, we do not have enough Tutors to teach them. Also, our most senior Tutor has just transferred to Morgenster Mission Hospital School of Nursing which is closer to his home. So, the three Tutors who are left will have to work full throttle to maintain standards. The class which wrote their final examinations in December with the results coming out in January did very well. The class had 28 students and 27 passed the exams. PRAISE THE LORD! Their examinations are national and cover materials studied over the three years of training.
3. SUSPICION MUDZANIRE:
Suspicion Mudzanire, our Director of Administration and Evangelism and the one we are mentoring to take our Ministry in to the future will be going to the Philippines with a short-term mission group from FAME. He has never been out of Africa. So, it is going to be some adventure for him. We are very thankful to Charlie and Judy Grant of the Lakeview Christian Church for supplying all the $3,099.48 which was needed by the FAME organizers for the trip. Garden City Christian Church, Columbus, Indiana also donated funds from which we gave Suspicion pocket money. The rest of it will await another trip for Suspicion and his wife. Suspicion will be flying out of Harare International Airport this Sunday the 11th of May and will meet with the rest of the team in Doha. May we appeal to those Churches and organizations which we fellowship with, which are planning for a short-term mission trip to South America or Europe to kindly invite Suspicion and Dolce Mudzanire to join them. We also appeal to any partners to donate towards their expenses. Kindly send the funds so donated with specification to Mashoko Christian Hospital Inc, P. O. Box 19022, Indianapolis, Indiana 46219.
4. REMODELING OF THE OR DEPARTMENT.
An NGO called CORDAID was contracted by the Ministry of Health and Child Care of Zimbabwe to refurbish our OR department with funds from the World Bank. It is very different from before. PRAISE THE LORD! See in following pictures:
